Food for thought about families

Happy birthday great-nana

In April 2012 it was great-nana’s 89th birthday and Harry, Edward, and Eva presented her with a cake.  This made me think about what they would remember about this day when they got older, what would they know about their ancestors whose genes they carry and which help make them who they are?  I can only help them with their Clarke family history but hopefully this will make them curious about their Beeston, and  Nawoor or Woolley pedigrees.

Creating a family tree is relatively easy, but the names and dates only tell us so much; it’s the stories about the characters that bring life to the tree. While I can only go back a generation or two, if I don’t capture those stories now, they will be lost forever, so that’s what this blog is about.
